Amelthia Lau was until recently an employee of Arasaka. She is a psychologist and cyberneticist. She is an expert in the manipulation of memories. To this end, she has created a program that is capable of downloading and decoding a person’s memories. The process is effective, but also leads to serious memory loss.

She also developed the Brainworm, a device for blocking a person’s memories. After she was abducted from the Johnston Atoll Facility, she was turned over to Masslight who apparently had interest in her work.
