Chain is one of the members of the booster gang the O-Zoners, although he is now literally one half of it, as only he and one other member remains. Chain was once the leader of the O-Zoners. However, the gang put a lot of emphasis on getting cybered-up and taking on as much metal as possible, something that Chain could not handle. His mind and body struggled with augmentation. This eventually cost him his leadership of the gang. In a desperate attempt rectify the matter, he contacted a ripper doc who claimed he could help Chain. It turned out that the doc was implanting an experimental chip called the Osiris Chip, which not only suppressed cyber-psychosis, but also suppress free will. Luckily for him, the team saved him from that fate.
