Lacy Ties was a stripper originally based in Las Vegas. She worked private parties where she would be required to go to homes, offices, or hotel rooms. This is how she met Riptide, who worked as her bodyguard for those gigs.

Unbeknownst to Riptide she had a habit of stealing from these types of clients. During one of these incidents, she stole the wallet of Burton Chambers, an act that would come back to haunt her. The wallet contained a data chip with some important information that Chambers wanted back. It took several years for him to track her down. She was in Night City having just been reunited with Riptide and had struck up a romance with him when she was killed by an Arasaka sniper.
